Key findings
Returns are accepted for a full refund within 365 days of purchase if unworn, unwashed and tagged; mail returns cost a flat $8, while store returns and exchanges are free.
The core tees are made at Buck Mason’s own knitting mill in Mohnton, Pennsylvania: the Slub Curved Hem and Pima Classic tees both list at $48.
Much of the rest of the range is imported. The Japanese Denim Ford Standard Jean, $198 to $228, lists Indonesia as its origin despite an FAQ line about mostly US production.
The FAQ says flatly that Buck Mason does not offer discounts or promotions and will not honour unofficial coupon codes found online.
Trustpilot holds only a few dozen reviews and a 3.3 score; the recent negative ones describe return slips not arriving and refunds not processed.
What you are buying
Buck Mason was founded in 2013 in Venice, California, by Sasha Koehn and Erik Allen Ford, starting with locally made jeans and tees. It later took over a Pennsylvania knitting mill, now Buck Mason Knitting Mills, which makes its US-made tees. The range has grown into a full men’s and women’s wardrobe built on vintage American references: Slub, Pima and heavyweight Field-Spec tees, Japanese denim, chinos, felted wool chore coats, cashmere, leather jackets and collaborations with brands such as Anatomica and Bryceland’s. It sells online and through 44 stores listed on its site, plus some Bloomingdale’s locations. Pricing is full-price only. The customer is someone who wants quiet, classic clothes and buys fewer, better pieces.

Slub Curved Hem Tee BUY
The tee the brand is known for: a 145 GSM slub cotton crewneck with a curved hem, sewn at the Mohnton, Pennsylvania mill and garment-washed so it arrives soft. It lists at $48 in four colours, sizes XS to XXL. The product page is detailed about weight, fibre and origin, which is more than most rivals offer. The case against it is price, since a US-made tee at $48 is not cheap, and one Trustpilot reviewer said their tees did not get softer after many washes. A 2026 reviewer also noted that sizing can differ depending on where an item was made.
StrengthUS-made, light textured cotton with a curved hem that looks considered
Weakness$48 per tee with no discounts ever offered
A smoother alternative to the slub tee: 140 GSM Supima cotton, classic fit with a straight hem, made at the same Pennsylvania mill and listed at $48 in seven colours. The FAQ explains the difference plainly, slub for texture and drape, Pima for a smooth, more structured hang. It is a good tee, but at the same price as the brand’s signature slub version it has less to distinguish it from Pima tees sold elsewhere for less. Care is cold wash, tumble low, no bleach. Choose it over the slub if you dislike visible texture.
StrengthSmooth Supima jersey made in the US, seven colours in stock
WeaknessLess distinctive than the slub tee at an identical price
A 310 GSM heavyweight cotton tee, roughly double the density of the core tees according to the product page, at $62 in eight colours. It is imported rather than made at the Pennsylvania mill, which the page states. Heavy tees are a crowded category, and $62 is at the upper end, but the weight is real and the classic cut avoids the oversized look many heavyweight tees have. Machine washable. Buy it if your thinner tees stretch at the collar; skip it in hot climates, where 310 GSM is a lot of cotton.
StrengthProperly heavy jersey in a classic rather than boxy cut
WeaknessImported, and at $62 near the top of the heavy-tee market
A mid-rise, straight-then-tapered jean in Kaihara denim with 1 percent stretch, button fly and copper rivets, listed at $198 to $228 depending on wash. The fit guide offers four denim fits, so there is a reasonable chance of finding one that works. Two points give pause. The same product page quotes the denim as 14 oz in one paragraph and 13.25 oz in another, and the origin is listed as Indonesia. A 2022 Trustpilot reviewer said their jeans fell apart within about a year. Free in-store hemming helps if you live near a shop.
StrengthKaihara denim, four fits and free hemming in stores
WeaknessImported at a price that implies more, with inconsistent fabric weight specs
A 340 GSM twice-boiled merino chore coat with horn buttons and a notch collar, $268 in six colours. The brand features it as one of its felted wool ‘icons’ and it sits on the best-sellers list. Felted merino is warm and resists wind better than a knit, so it works as a shirt-jacket through most of autumn. The catch is care: the label is dry clean only, which adds a running cost and makes the 365-day return rule, which requires the item unworn, irrelevant once you have actually worn it. It is imported.
StrengthWarm, structured felted merino that layers like a jacket

Watch-outs
The $8 flat fee on mail returns surprises buyers who see ‘365-day returns’ in the site banner; only exchanges and in-store returns are free.
Recent Trustpilot complaints from 2025 and 2026 describe return slips never sent, a voided return label and refunds not processed, with emails unanswered.
Outlet purchases, altered items and vintage pieces are final sale, and items bought at Bloomingdale’s must go back to Bloomingdale’s.
What customers say
There is not much public review data to go on. Trustpilot has only a few dozen reviews in total, the profile is unclaimed and Buck Mason does not reply there. The score is 3.3, and the reviews split sharply. Recent five-star reviews praise named store staff and a phone agent who sorted out a problem after a twenty-minute hold.
The negative reviews are mostly about process rather than clothes: return slips that never arrived, a wrong item shipped, refunds not received, and emails ignored, with two reviewers mentioning chargebacks. Older reviews include jeans that wore out within a year, a classic-fit large that ran small, and tees that never softened after dozens of washes. A few 2022 complaints describe being charged by an unrelated website using the Buck Mason name, a reminder to order only from buckmason.com.

Verdict
Buck Mason’s tees are the reason to shop here, and the US-made Slub Curved Hem is a fair buy at $48. The 365-day return window is the most generous in this category, though it costs $8 by mail and needs tags on. Beyond the tees, prices climb fast for clothes that are mostly imported, and the thin review record includes too many return-process complaints to ignore. Start with tees, use a store if one is near you. Verdict: CONSIDER.
