Why B: A 365-night trial with free pickup and a lifetime warranty are real strengths, but list prices ending in odd cents, near-permanent sales and delivery complaints make the deal harder to read than it should be.

Findings in brief
Every mattress bought on helixsleep.com gets a 365-night trial from delivery, with a 30-night break-in, free pickup and a full refund; two returns are allowed per household.
The help center lists a Luxe queen at $2,398.66 and a Core queen at $1,332 before discounts, figures that land on round prices only after 25 percent off.
Mattresses carry a limited lifetime warranty; bases get 10 years, foundations and frames five, and pillows, sheets and toppers one.
Helix merged with Brooklyn Bedding in 2021; mattresses are assembled in the US and Helix says it pours its own foams in Arizona.
What you are buying
Helix Sleep is a direct-to-consumer mattress brand that sells hybrids matched to sleep position, with a quiz to steer buyers. Since 2021 it has shared ownership and a Phoenix factory with Brooklyn Bedding while keeping a separate line-up. Mattresses come in three tiers: the 11.5-inch Core collection, the 13.5-inch Luxe and the Elite, each in soft, medium and firm models named Sunset, Moonlight, Midnight, Dusk, Twilight and Dawn. Helix Plus targets heavier sleepers with a reinforced coil base, and a two-sided Kids mattress flips between firmness levels. The Birch line adds latex-and-coil mattresses made with organic cotton. Around them sit foundations, frames, adjustable bases, toppers, pillows, sheets and protectors. Helix ships to the US and most of Canada.

Helix Midnight Luxe BUY
The bestseller and the model Helix recommends for side sleepers: a 13.5-inch hybrid with a quilted pillow top, Tencel cover and zoned coils that are softer under the shoulders and firmer under the hips. The help center lists Luxe queens at $2,398.66 before discounts, and a 20 percent sitewide sale was running when we checked. It gets the 365-night trial, a complimentary topper if the feel is wrong, and the lifetime warranty. A minority of Trustpilot reviewers found it too firm, or too soft, even after months, so use the trial seriously.
StrengthZoned support, long trial and a free topper to adjust feel
WeaknessFeel divides reviewers; list price is mainly an anchor
The value tier: 11.5-inch hybrids in the same sleep-position models, with a polyester Soft Touch cover or an optional GlacioTex cooling pillow top. The help center’s price list puts a queen at $1,332 and a king at $1,810.66 before discounts, so a 25 percent discount brings a queen to exactly $999, which says a lot about how the list price was set. The trial and lifetime warranty are identical to the pricier tiers, which is the case for buying here. The trade-off is fewer comfort layers and a plainer cover, and the help center does not detail coil counts by tier.
StrengthSame trial and warranty as the premium tiers for far less
The top tier: seven models up to 15 inches tall with microcoil comfort layers, a GlacioTex Elite phase-change cover and a two-part build whose comfort insert can be swapped once for a different firmness at no charge during the trial. The help center lists a queen at $3,749.33 and a king at $4,498.66 before discounts. The swappable insert is a useful idea. At this price you are competing with luxury mattress brands, and the 15-inch height is worth checking against your existing sheets before ordering.
StrengthOne free comfort-insert swap during the trial
WeaknessLuxury pricing; tall profile may not suit existing sheets
Built for plus-size sleepers with a reinforced TitanCore coil base and dense Helix foams, offered in Plus, Plus Luxe and Plus Elite versions. The help center price list does not break out Plus pricing, and the product pages refused automated access during research, so check the current figure on the site. The same 365-night trial and lifetime warranty apply. Several one-star Trustpilot reviews describe sagging or body impressions within a few years on Helix mattresses generally, which is the failure heavier sleepers most need to avoid.
StrengthPurpose-built reinforced base for heavier sleepers
WeaknessPricing not published in the help center; sag reports exist
The natural line, now sold through Helix: organic cotton, natural latex and pocketed coils, GREENGUARD Gold certified, GOLS-certified latex and made in a Fair Trade Certified factory, with no fiberglass or chemical flame retardants. Helix rates the Natural at 7 of 10 for firmness. The help center lists a queen at $1,865.33 before discounts, with Luxe and Elite versions above it. It is a credible latex hybrid for less than most organic specialists, though it does not claim full GOTS finished-product certification the way some rivals do.
StrengthLatex and organic cotton at a mid-market price
WeaknessFirm feel; fewer certifications than organic specialists
A flippable children’s mattress with a firmer side for younger children and a softer side for later, steel coils, and a Tencel cover with a water-repellent finish. The help center lists a twin at $749.33 and a full at $998.66 before discounts, plus a slimmer six-inch version for bunk beds. Unusually for a kids’ product it gets the full 365-night trial with a free return. The main caveat is that it is not organic, and the cover is water-repellent rather than waterproof, so a protector is still sensible.
StrengthTwo firmness sides and a full-year trial
WeaknessNot waterproof; a protector is still needed

Watch-outs
List prices such as $2,398.66 for a Luxe queen appear designed to be discounted, and a sitewide sale runs most of the time; treat the sale price as the real price.
The 365-night trial applies only to orders on helixsleep.com; mattresses bought in stores follow the retailer’s policy, and the free topper offer excludes showroom purchases.
Ryder in-home setup must be chosen at checkout, cannot be discounted, and drives many of the delivery complaints on Trustpilot.
Accessories, frames and foundations get only 30 days, not the mattress trial.
Sentiment from reviews
Trustpilot rates Helix ‘Excellent’ at about 4.4 on a couple of hundred reviews, with the company replying to almost every negative one. Positive reviews are often about pain: sleepers reporting less back pain, sciatica or arthritis discomfort than on their previous bed, and several praise the sleep quiz for steering them to the right model. Others describe exchanges, refunds and replacement foundations handled without argument.
The complaints are mostly about getting the mattress, not the mattress itself. Orders sat for weeks without a delivery date, White Glove appointments through Ryder were never scheduled, a mattress arrived as one of two boxes, and phone support was hard to reach. A second group found their model too firm or too soft after the break-in, and a few report sagging or warranty claims redirected to the retailer they bought from. One buyer objected that the price rose the day a sale ended.
Compare against
Avocado Green Mattress
Pick this if certified organic materials matter more than a free return or a broad choice of feels.
Saatva
Pick this if you prefer a coil-on-coil innerspring feel to foam-and-coil hybrids.
Brooklyn Bedding
Pick this if you want hybrids from the same Phoenix factory under a different line-up and price ladder.
Final call
Helix makes a good range of hybrids and backs them with terms that are better than most: a year to decide, free pickup, a free topper if the feel is off and a lifetime warranty. What holds it back is pricing that relies on permanent discounting and a delivery operation that generates most of the complaints. Buy direct during a sale, choose standard FedEx delivery unless you need removal, and use the trial. Verdict: CONSIDER.
