Why B−: The Commuter line earns its loyal following and US returns are among the easiest in the category, but $138 shirts, changing fits and a poor Trustpilot service record cap the grade.

Overall is the weighted mean of the five rows, adjusted by a small slug-seeded offset so that brands never line up in a false staircase, and capped at 9.8. Full working on the Methodology page (v2.1).
Findings in brief
The Commuter Shirt and Commuter Pant both list at $138 in the US, the Reign Short Sleeve tee at $68 and the 7-inch Pursuit Short at $74.
US returns and exchanges are free within 45 days of delivery for unworn, tagged items, extended to 60 days for purchases made between November 1 and December 24.
Exchanging for a different colour or style uses ‘Shop Now’ credit valued at the pre-code price, so a buyer who used a 15 percent code gets full list value back as credit.
Orders shipped outside the US cannot use the return portal; the buyer pays return shipping and duties, and a 2026 on-site reviewer in the UK said this was not clear at checkout.
Recent low-rated Commuter reviews describe fits changing between colours and production runs, including a December 2025 claim that five-pocket Commuters became much baggier.
Range overview
Rhone is a US performance-apparel brand that started in men’s gym wear and is now best known for the Commuter collection: stretch, wrinkle-resistant shirts, pants, polos and blazers meant to go from office to travel without ironing. Alongside it sit training lines such as Reign tees and Pursuit shorts, the DreamState and DreamGlow lounge ranges, a smaller women’s collection, an NBA licensing tie-up and a resale site called reRhone. It sells online, through its own retail and outlet stores, and through department stores such as Nordstrom. Prices sit in the same bracket as Lululemon and Vuori. The buyer it suits is a man who wants a smart-casual work uniform he can wash and wear, and who is willing to pay for it.

Commuter Shirt CONSIDER
The flagship: a stretch performance button-down at $138 in the US, in Slim, Classic and Athletic fits. Its Bazaarvoice rating is high across nearly four thousand reviews, and the praise is consistent about comfort and travel. The low ratings are specific and worth reading: underarm staining that will not wash out and cannot be bleached, a shirt that wrinkled despite cold washing and line drying, sleeves that run short for athletic builds, and one iron that melted a hole. Buy one in a dark colour and follow the care label strictly before committing to a full work wardrobe at this price.
StrengthComfortable, stretchy office shirt that most buyers find travel-ready
WeaknessStain and wrinkle complaints undercut the low-maintenance pitch
A stretch chino-style pant at $138 in Slim, Athletic and Straight fits, with the Commuter Pro version at $148. It carries one of the largest review bases on the site at a 4.7 average, and long-term owners describe wearing it from office to golf course. Custom inseam lengths are hemmed by Rhone for a fee that is not refunded on return. The one-star reviews mention a zipper failing after 16 months with the claim refused, an Athletic fit capped at a 33-inch inseam, and buyers who say fit varies between colours. Order two colours in one size and compare before cutting tags.
StrengthVersatile office-to-weekend pant with a deep base of happy repeat buyers
WeaknessFit varies by colour for some buyers; inseam options are limited
The training tee, $68 in the US and rated highly across more than 1,800 reviews. Fans like the soft, cool hand and the fit. The critical reviews form a pattern that has run since 2023: necklines that loosen or fold forward after a few wears, a reviewer who says quality dropped after production moved, and a runner who found sweat-wicking no better than cotton. One buyer says support told him to put a stretched collar in ice. At $68 a gym tee needs to hold its shape, so this is one to buy in person or on sale and return quickly if the collar relaxes.
StrengthSoft, light fabric that looks smarter than a typical gym tee
WeaknessCollar shape is the recurring failure point at a high price
The main training short, offered lined or unlined in 5, 7 and 9-inch lengths; the 7-inch unlined lists at $74 in the US. More than a thousand reviews average near 4.8. It replaced the older Mako short, and some long-time customers are unhappy about the move, citing a lost back pocket and side zip pocket. Other low ratings mention holes in pocket fabric after a year, the lined version slipping down with a loaded pocket, and white colours greying in a mixed wash. None of those is unusual for a technical short, and the price is closer to the market than the Commuter line.
StrengthSeveral lengths and liner options at a more reasonable price
WeaknessMako fans miss the old pocket layout; pocket fabric can wear through
A tapered Commuter-fabric jogger at $138, with ankle zips. It has only around sixty reviews and the lowest average of the Commuter products read. The complaints line up: much baggier than the earlier skinny Commuter jogger it replaces, a waist that runs small, an inseam long enough to flare, khaki and navy sized differently in the same label size, and ankle zips that rub. Several three-star reviewers liked the fabric but paid for tailoring. If you want this look, the Commuter Pant in a slim fit is the better-reviewed route to it.
StrengthSame comfortable Commuter fabric in a jogger cut
WeaknessFit is the main complaint: baggy, inconsistent sizing, uncomfortable zips

Things to know before you buy
International orders lose most of the return policy: no portal, no store returns, buyer pays shipping and duties, and original shipping and duties are not refunded outside EU withdrawal rights.
Trustpilot reviews from 2025 and 2026 describe packages marked delivered that never arrived, orders cancelled without explanation and support giving contradictory answers.
Several long-time buyers report fit and fabric changes in the Commuter and Reign lines; one links a five-pocket fit change to a price increase.
Custom inseam fees are not refunded on return, and a Trustpilot reviewer says a paid alteration on final-sale pants was never done.
Review themes
The two review sources disagree sharply. On Rhone’s own Bazaarvoice reviews the core products average around 4.7 to 4.8 across thousands of ratings, and the recent five-star entries come from repeat buyers who own several Commuter pants or shirts and use them as a work uniform.
Trustpilot is small and negative at 1.9, with under fifty reviews and only a handful in the past year. The recent ones are about logistics rather than clothing: parcels marked delivered to the wrong address, an order cancelled with no explanation, a 15 percent sign-up code that excluded sale items, and an international return blocked at customs. Rhone answers only a small share of these. The one-star on-site reviews add product themes the averages hide: fits changing between batches, Commuter shirts staining or wrinkling, and Reign collars losing shape.
Rivals worth a look
Lululemon
Pick this if you want the ABC pant and a larger store network for in-person fittings and returns.
Vuori
Pick this if you prefer a softer, more casual performance fabric for lounge and training.
Mizzen+Main
Pick this if performance dress shirts are your main need and you want a brand that specialises in them.
Final call
Rhone makes good clothes for a specific job, and the Commuter Pant in particular has the review depth to back a recommendation. The returns policy is the other strength: 45 days, free in the US, with sensible exchange credit. What holds it back is price, fits that shift between runs, and a service record that turns sour once something goes wrong in delivery. Buy one piece, test it through a few washes inside the window, then build from there. Verdict: CONSIDER.
