What the research shows

  1. The US return policy allows 49 days from the date you received the product, with no restocking fee, but the buyer pays all return shipping.
  2. Chairs carry a 3-year warranty, extendable to 5 years only by posting a public photo of the chair with #Secretlab on social media.
  3. Most items in the Accessories section, including SKINS seat covers and lumbar pillows, are excluded from returns entirely.
  4. The warranty excludes wear and tear, ageing of materials and moisture damage, which explicitly includes heavy sweating; claims must be filed within 14 days of noticing a defect.
  5. Shipping runs to the 48 contiguous states only, from warehouses in Tennessee and Utah, and the delivery page puts the cost at around US$41 or more per chair or desk.

What Secretlab sells

Secretlab is a Singapore-founded company (the trademark sits with Secretlab SG Pte Ltd) that sells flat-packed chairs, desks and desk accessories direct from its own regional stores (secretlab.co serves the US). The chair range is built around the TITAN Evo, a tall bucket-style seat in three sizes, and the newer ATLAS, a lower, more office-like chair with synchronous tilt. Desks are the MAGNUS family: the static MAGNUS Metal Desk, the motorized MAGNUS Pro and the cheaper MAGNUS Evo. Around these sits a large magnetic accessory system (cable anchors, monitor arms, desk mats, RGB strips) plus licensed editions for games, anime and motorsport teams. The audience is gamers and long-hours desk workers who want more adjustment than a big-box chair. Everything ships flat and is assembled at home, and Secretlab ships replacement parts rather than sending technicians.

Item verdicts

6 items. Each chip is a per-product call and can differ from the brand verdict.

TITAN Evo chair BUY

The flagship and the reason most people visit. The Regular size lists at $579 in NEO Hybrid Leatherette and $599 in SoftWeave Plus fabric, with XL at $629 and $649; licensed designs add about $85. Product copy lists a 4-way lumbar system, a magnetic memory foam head pillow and recline to 165 degrees, and the three sizes are the real advantage over one-size rivals. Read the sizing chart rather than guessing. The weak points are the leatherette, which the warranty treats as wear and tear once it ages, and recent reviews describing seats that feel firm after a few hours.

StrengthThree sizes and a deep range of replacement parts
WeaknessLeatherette ageing is excluded from the warranty

ATLAS chair CONSIDER

The newer, more office-shaped chair. Classic Black leatherette lists at $499 in Regular and $519 in Large, SoftWeave versions at $519, and the NanoGen+ editions at $699. Secretlab’s own comparison describes a synchronous tilt to 120 degrees, a curved backrest with integrated lumbar support, adjustable seat depth and a lower seat than the TITAN Evo. It suits someone who sits upright and works rather than games and reclines. It is newer, so long-term reports are thin, and recent one-star Trustpilot reviews complain about unstable armrests that support called normal behaviour.

StrengthSeat-depth adjustment and synchronous tilt at a lower price
WeaknessArmrest stability is a recurring early complaint

MAGNUS Pro desk CONSIDER

A motorized sit-to-stand desk with a steel top that accepts the magnetic accessory system and a full-length cable tray. The 1.5 m desk-only configuration lists at $899, with Signature mat editions from $948 and the XL size higher still. The cable management is the most thoughtful in the category and the reason to pay this much. The catch is that the useful extras are sold separately and the bundles push the total well past $1,000. The desk frame has a 5-year warranty, but its electronics get only 2 years.

StrengthBest-in-class cable management built into the frame
WeaknessMotors and controls carry only a 2-year warranty

MAGNUS Evo desk CONSIDER

The cheaper motorized desk, described by Secretlab as bringing the best parts of the MAGNUS Pro to more people. It lists at $749 for the Regular and $849 for the XL. It keeps the magnetic accessory compatibility and simpler cable management. It is the better value of the two motorized desks for most home offices, though it still costs well above generic standing desks from Flexispot or Uplift. At the time of reading, some of the no-mat variants were listed as pre-orders with dates months away, so check the ship date before ordering.

StrengthMost of the Pro’s ecosystem for $150 less
WeaknessSome variants listed as distant pre-orders

TITAN Evo NanoGen Edition SKIP

The premium-upholstery version of the TITAN Evo, listed at $799 for the Regular and $849 for the XL, a $220 step up from the standard leatherette chair. The frame, mechanism and sizes are the same as the cheaper chair, so the extra money buys a different covering and nothing structural. Since the warranty explicitly excludes ageing of materials and moisture damage, the upholstery is the part least protected if it disappoints. For this money, most buyers do better with the standard TITAN Evo in SoftWeave fabric and a set of SKINS later if the cover wears.

StrengthSame proven frame with an upgraded covering
WeaknessBig premium for upholstery the warranty barely protects

SKINS seat covers CONSIDER

Replacement covers for the TITAN Evo seat and backrest, sold by size. SKINS in SoftWeave list at $169, licensed designs at $199, and the thinner SKINS Lite at $99. They are a good answer to the chair’s main long-term weakness: when upholstery wears, you replace the cover rather than the chair. Two cautions. SKINS sit in the Accessories section and are not returnable, so a wrong-size order is yours to keep. And they carry a 1-year warranty, shorter than the chair they cover. A one-star review also describes being refused SKINS without proof of chair ownership.

StrengthExtends a worn chair’s life without replacing the frame
WeaknessNon-returnable, so ordering the wrong size is costly

Things to know before you buy

  • Return freight is the buyer’s cost and goods must be fully disassembled in the original packaging; damage fees up to the product price can be deducted if packaging is missing or damaged.
  • Partial returns from a minimum-spend promotion forfeit the whole discount, and the terms say you may get no refund at all if the returned item is worth less than the discount.
  • The 5-year warranty requires publishing a public social media post of the chair; without it, coverage stays at 3 years, and claims must be filed within 14 days of noticing a defect.
  • Repairs are do-it-yourself by design: Secretlab ships parts and says it will not pay labour if you hire someone to fit them.

Sentiment from reviews

Trustpilot shows a 4.0 ‘Great’ score across a very large number of reviews, and the shape is a sizable five-star majority with a noticeable one-star block. Positive reviews are about build quality, packaging and easy assembly, and several describe free replacement parts arriving quickly, occasionally even after the warranty had ended.

The one-star reviews read differently. The commonest theme is support: automated or templated email replies, requests for more photos, and cases left open for days. Delivery complaints follow, including missed drop-offs, cartons left in lobbies and paid priority shipping that still took a week. A smaller group describe warranty claims refused for insufficient information, an ATLAS armrest wobble described by support as normal, and a TITAN Evo tilt that failed within weeks. Several mention paying return postage and losing promotional discounts on returns.

Rivals worth a look

Herman Miller

Pick this if you want a 12-year warranty and an office chair that holds resale value.

Branch

Pick this if you want a mesh office chair at a lower price with free returns.

Flexispot

Pick this if you only need a motorized standing desk and do not care about magnetic accessories.

Final call

Secretlab makes chairs and desks that are better engineered than their gamer styling suggests, and its legal documents are unusually specific and dated. The business terms are where it slips: you pay to ship a bulky return, most accessories cannot be returned at all, the longer warranty is traded for a public social post, and support starts with a chatbot. Buy the TITAN Evo or MAGNUS Evo if the size and features fit, but be sure before you order. Verdict: CONSIDER.

Brand verdict: CONSIDER 7.2/10, grade B−.
